Eileen Rothschild became a California Realtor® in 1993 when she was named “Rookie of the Year.” Her previous professional experience includes marketing, public relations, and advertising, writing, and fine arts. She brings all of those skills and experience into her real estate career. Eileen’s commitment to continuing education and learning is well suited to the ever changing Real Estate Industry. Eileen was also licensed in the State of Nevada and developed a residential subdivision of 31 properties in Elko, Nevada. Eileen has always dedicated time, leadership, and personal resources to education and the schools, the arts, and to other non-profit groups and community organizations. Eileen is a member of the Assistance League of Los Gatos and Saratoga and is on the board of directors of The Friends of the Guadalupe River Park and Gardens. She is very excited to have one of her two adult sons, Marc Shapiro, as one of her partners.
Marc Shapiro was born in Santa Clara and raised in Saratoga, California. He graduated from UCLA with a degree in Economics. Marc brings incredible energy, professionalism and marketing expertise to the team. His technical knowledge and internet marketing skills are complemented by extraordinary interpersonal and communication skills. Marc is an excellent negotiator and problem solver. He complements his partners’ skill sets to form a well-rounded professional real estate team. Before becoming a Realtor®, Marc oversaw an international royalty division at MGM. He then worked for Western International Media as a senior level media buyer where he worked on behalf of major corporate clients such as Yamaha Motorcycles, AOL, and Warner Brothers Pictures, developing media plans, and negotiating and purchasing over 200 million dollars in national television commercial air time. Marc also has professional experience as an internet marketing manager and as a business development consultant, forming online marketing partnerships. Art and architecture have always been strong interests for Marc, and his clients benefit from his critical eye, ideas, and experience. He and his wife, Hope, recently purchased a home in the Naglee Park neighborhood of San Jose.
Norval Nelson brings a strong business background to the team. His creativity and experience in public relations and marketing, combined with his service and hospitality background bring a diverse and valuable skill set to the team and its clients. He moved to San Jose in 1984 to become the General Manager of Red Lion Hotel, now known as the Doubletree Hotel, and in 1994 he opened the San Jose Hilton and Towers. Norval spent several years in Nevada as Chief Executive Officer of a large hotel, airline and casino corporation, McClasky Enterprises. Back in the Bay Area since 2000, Norval took a position managing a portfolio of privately held real estate assets including single family, multi-unit, apartment and a commercial property with executive offices and public meeting space. He has continued his community involvement since his return to the Bay Area and serves as the President of the Steinway Society. He is active with the Downtown San Jose Rotary Club and the San Jose Convention and Visitors Bureau’s marketing committee. Norval resides with his wife, Eileen Rothschild, in Saratoga.
